This time last year, upon the arrival of the Nexus S, we got to see a very usual take on the traditional smartphone unboxing video, with a trio of tiny ninjas breaking through your browser in their effort to get their hands on the Gingerbread handset. With the Galaxy Nexus now here, those ninjas are back, and more anxious than ever to unwrap the premiere Ice Cream Sandwich smartphone.

Animator Patrick Boivin gives us an interactive experience this time around, where you can take control of one of the mini-ninjas to fight your way through to your Galaxy Nexus prize. The sound and visuals are given a faux-retro “8-bit” tweak, and though it takes some missteps that keep it from feeling like a genuine 8-bit game, it’s still a heck of a lot of fun.
