Native iPhone Gmail App Coming Soon?

Anton D. Nagy | November 1, 2011 3:02 AM

Those rocking an iPhone and using Google’s mail offering will probably be happy to find out that Mountain View is preparing a dedicated Gmail application, at least according to recent rumors.

Reports have it that Google not only prepared the application but it has already submitted it for Apple to review. Why should this be great news when you can easily access Gmail via the web? Well, a dedicated application will most definitely bring push notifications to the table. Of course you could use Gmail in Exchange mode with the Mail application but then again you will not be able to star your messages on-the-fly. Keep an eye out on the iTunes App Store or better yet, follow us as we’ll let you know as soon as it’s added to the software store.
