After a not so successful fourth quarter in 2011, when only 200k tablets were delivered to stores (not necessarily sold to users) and a net loss of about $80 million seen by the company, Motorola is trying hard to reach out to its customers and avoid having the Xoom “experience” again with the Xyboard tablets.
Motorola’s website now offers the 8.2 Xyboard with a free portfolio case ($39 otherwise) and a HD dock (usually at $49), for $399. In the same way, a similar deal is available for the larger 10.1 tablet for $499. The offer is available until February 29 so you’ve got a couple of days to see what will happen in Barcelona next week before clicking that purchase button.
