Motorola’s been hard at work on preparing updates for the Droid Bionic on Verizon recently. The carrier sent one out back at the beginning of December, when system software 5.5.893 became available. Since then, we’ve seen the arrival of an update to 5.9.901, which contained an extensive list of new features and changes. Development on the smartphone’s next update continues, with news of 5.9.902 already starting distribution.

Testers who update to 5.9.902 will see a few modifications to their phones, but this one’s definitely on the minor side of updates. It sounds like Motorola’s lawyers were involved this time, as a few of the tweaks deal with how the phone displays Motorola’s licensing agreement. Also along that line, it now makes sure to re-confirm consent to share location data after performing a device reset.

It’s six-of-one, half-a-dozen-of-another when it comes to bloat on the Droid Bionic with this release. While it will remove Verizon’s VCast Music app, you get Amazon’s MP3 store in its place. Finally, the update is rounded-out with a Google security patch. Testers should start receiving update notifications tonight.
