Earlier today, we told you about a leak that brought us news of the release date for one of the smartphones Motorola revealed at this week’s CES. If a purple RAZR just wasn’t enough to get you excited, how about some news of the RAZR Maxx with its super-sized battery?
Motorola launched its own page for the RAZR Maxx on its US site, including prominently-placed text promising the phone would arrive at Verizon in two weeks’ time, on January 26.
The page has since been edited, with Motorola replacing that specific date with “available soon”, but the damage had already been done, and the information’s now out there. Now we’re just left wondering why the manufacturer removed the date. For a couple recent launches where it seemed like we had a hard-and-fast launch date out of various Verizon leaks, the phones failed to materialize as expected; maybe Verizon really is planning for a January 26 launch, but, two week out, isn’t yet ready to commit to the date.
When it does get here, the RAZR Maxx will be available for about $300 on-contract.
