Motorola has introduced another European handset to compliment the previously-announced Milestone 2, in the form of the ruggedized Defy. This Android 2.1-powered handset boasts a 3.7-inch, WVGA+ display with five-megapixel camera and 2GB ROM / 512MB RAM, all powered by an 800MHz processor. Radio-wise, Moto has included Bluetooth 2.1+ EDR, tri-flavor WiFi (with 802.11n), and quad-band GSM plus dual-band HSPA (900MHz and 2100Mhz).
Expected to arrive across the pond sometime during the fourth quarter, the 13.3-millimeter-thick Motorola Defy claims to be both dust proof and water resistant, making it something of a sibling to Spring-Nextel’s Motorola i1. Finally, being an Android handset from Motorola, the Defy naturally comes preloaded with the MOTOBLUR 1.5 user interface to supplement the native homescreen and widget package.
