In this video we go through the software of the Motorola Cliq 2 on T-Mobiles network. The device is running Android 2.2 with the MotorBlur user interface.
Like many other recent Motorola Androids the Cliq 2 has many applications that allow the sharing of files and media over a Wi-Fi connection. Not only does the device have a program to play media over a DLNA server, but also has the ability to share media from the Cliq 2 to be played on other network connected computers, game consoles, and even other mobile devices. The Phone Portal app allows the Cliq 2 to be connected to the Motorola syncing software over a USB connection or Wi-Fi.
The Cliq 2 has minimal proprietary carrier software preinstalled but does allow the consumer to choose which apps they would like to download through AppPack, which has many free T-Mobile apps. A few apps that T-Mobile has included are the Blockbuster, Slacker Radio, and Telenav GPS app. The Blockbuster app allows the downloading of movies from the Blockbuster site by either renting the title or buying it. Slacker Radio is free for the basic version but does cost around $4-$5 a month for the Slacker Plus depending on the subscription. Telenav GPS costs around $10 a month but does come with a 30 day free trial.
The Cliq 2 has the entire standard collection of Android 2.2 apps included the 3G Mobile Hotspot that allows the sharing of the phone’s data connection with other devices. Stay tuned for the full review coming up next, if you missed it check out the unboxing and
