While discussing company performance in an earnings call to Motorola’s investors, CEO Sanjay Jha just provided confirmation on the anticipated release dates for the Atrix 4G, Droid Bionic, and the Xoom tablet.
We reported a couple weeks ago that the Atrix 4G may arrive on AT&T around March 1. It seemed like that choice of a date was more of an estimation than a set-in-stone release date, and those suspicions look like they’re playing out. Jha has now stated that the phone will be out slightly earlier, right around the end of February.
We’ll have to wait much longer for the Droid Bionic, as Engadget reports Jha saying the phone won’t arrive until Q2 2011. Specifically, at the end of the quarter, not by the end, so we likely won’t see the phone until June. Don’t take this as a sign of delays due to bad power regulators – the company has already spoken up to deny those allegations.
If you’ve got your heart set on a Honeycomb device, Motorola plans to release the 3G version of the Xoom when the Atrix 4G goes out in February. Jha admitted a delay until March is possible, but unlikely. The 4G LTE edition of the Xoom will likewise come out around when the Droid Bionic does, just before the beginning of summer.
