The road to unlocked bootloaders for Motorola wasn’t as smooth as the road HTC decided to go down on, for example. Motorola promised to unlock bootloaders until late 2011 and OPMOSH seems to be kind enough to remind the company of its own promises.
Motorola announced the availability of an unlockable version of the Motorola RAZR. The post which went live on the Motorola blog quickly disappeared but Droid-life managed to get a screen grab seen above. The unlock will be possible, according to the wording, through MOTODEV, a place where an unlockable developer device for the United States will be possible too “in the coming months”.
Those in Europe will be able to pre-order the Motorola RAZR Developer Edition via the Motorola Shop which doesn’t have any information live at the moment. We won’t judge you if you start refreshing both pages.
