Expanding its tentacles even further into the U.S. smartphone market, the Froyo-powered LG Optimus One has just been added to metroPCS’ lineup, making it the carrier’s first Android handset and the fifth stateside variant thus far. Unsurprisingly dubbed the Optimus M — joining the Optimus T, Optimus S, Optimus U, and curiously-named Verizon Vortex — this One features the same 600MHz processor, 3.2-inch HVGA screen, and 3.2-megapixel camera we’ve become accustomed to, although it does look a bit sharper in the face than its siblings, in our opinion. The Optimus M will be available starting on Wednesday the 24th for $229 with $50/month service plan; MetroPCS doesn’t offer annual contracts and thus no hardware subsidies are available.
