AT&T recently announced it would be bringing the HTC ChaCha to the States as the Status, and we’ve known for even longer about the efforts to re-brand the LG Optimus 3D as the Thrill 4G for its AT&T release, but we didn’t have a clear idea of when either smartphone would be released. A newly-leaked screenshot of upcoming AT&T launches now gives us a smaller window of when to expect each model, but we’re still left wanting for a date.
In a recent press release, AT&T claimed that it would begin sales of the LG Thrill 4G sometime this summer. With well over two months to go, that meant we might be in store for a bit of a wait before the no-glasses-required 3D handset arrived. Luckily, this new leak paints a rosier picture, claiming that the Thrill 4G will be out before the end of July. Oddly, the phone is referred to here as simply the LG Thrill, dropping the 4G.
Like the Thrill 4G, this leak puts the release of the HTC Status sometime this month, but doesn’t give us anything more specific than “July”. We’ll take what release news we can get, though, and at least this is something. Unfortunately, none of this new info comes with any pricing data, so we’ll be keeping an eye out for that as we continue to work on pinning-down just when AT&T will make these two smartphones available.
