Back in December last year, LG confirmed that the very popular Optimus One smartphone (hitting carriers under various names) will indeed be getting an Android 2.3 Gingerbread update. At the end of June, some regions already got the update and it appears that the roll-out process continues.
According to GSM Arena, the LG Optimus One is getting its Gingerbread treat in several regions. The platform refresh needs to be applied via the manufacturer’s own desktop client so make sure to check with the LG software for an update available for your Optimus One. The version rolled out back in June was V20G and contained a bug as users couldn’t end a call after finishing it. The screen remained off instead of lighting back up while they took the phone away from their ear. Hope LG fixed this issue and if you’ve got the update, let us know.
