LG Revolution users on Verizon LTE are about to get a new OTA update for their smartphones in the near future. Lamentably, it’s not quite time for Gingerbread on the Revolution just yet, but VS910ZV6 has new apps, updates, and bugfixes that should help tide you over.
Verizon will load up your phone with its latest VCAST media apps, as well as provide updates for some of the pre-installed titles on the Revolution. None of the bugfixes address any serious problems with the Revolution, but they’ll make sure the handset is behaving the way you’d expect it to. That means proper call notifications when in vibrate mode, auto-correct not turning on by default all the time, album art displaying correctly for additional media types, and text message viewing not automatically opening the on-screen keyboard for you to start composing a reply.
There are a few fixes specific to email operation, including better handling of accounts that use multiple servers, avoidance of duplicate messages, and out-of-office settings for Exchange users.
We haven;t heard about the update going out just yet, but when Verizon puts up a support page like this, you can expect to see it reach the first users in oftentimes less than a week.
