A single photo has surfaced suggesting that LG’s Android 2.2-powered Optimus One may be coming to Verizon as the LG Vortex. According to The Droid Guy, source of the image, the pictured device’s specs — 600MHz CPU, 3.2-inch screen, and Froyo — match up with the One’s feature set, recently revealed by LG. Now of course the pictured handset does not look exactly like press shots of the One, but it’s not unusual for manufacturers to make slight design variations to meet individual carrier’s needs (see: the Samsung Galaxy S).
With its HVGA resolution and sub-gigahertz processor, we can’t imagine that there will be too much excitement generated if this rumor does come to pass, though our instincts have been known to fail us before. Does the Vortex sound like a handset you’ll be waiting around for?
