LG’s Optimus One mid-range Froyo handset – rumored for T-Mobile with WiFi calling – has been benchmarked by Android Central, and as one would expect for a phone with its components, results were squarely in the middle of the pack.

With its 600MHz processor, the handset which LG calls a “transitional smartphone” – intended for those who are on the switch from their classic or messaging phones to smartphones – seems to be kicking some real Motorola Droid and Sony Ericsson X10i, scoring 471, just a tad below the Google Nexus One and the HTC Desire – both of which run a 1GHz processor.

The Optimus One will be all over US carriers this holiday season: as the Vortex on Verizon, Optimus T on T-Mobile, and Optimus S on Sprint. Interestingly, for all the attention that the One is getting, the Optimus Chic — introduced at the same time as the One — has made nary a peep since it debuted.
