The LG Optimus Black — with its 1GHz processor, 512 MB RAM, five-megapixel main camera with auto-focus and LED flash, front-facing two-megapixel webcam and more — is coming shortly to the U.S. but Canada gets a special edition.
The LG Optimus Black Skype Edition is your ordinary Optimus Black but sports a pre-loaded Skype app, making it the “first Skype-branded phone on the Canadian market”. Apparently there’s a deal between Telus and Skype that would offer Optimus Black Skype Edition owners 60 minutes of Skype international calling credits as well as Skype $2 credit. And that’s not all, credits are going to be billed directly to your monthly bill. No word on official pricing or exact availability but stay tuned for the smartphone this summer.
