This is an interesting bit! We’re sure you remember all the confusion around Google’s latest “pure-Android” phone; before it was officially launched several rumors were referring to it as the Nexus Prime and then Samsung and El Goog came on stage to show off the Galaxy Nexus.
There was even a theory that the Nexus Prime will be the name for the phone you’ll get on Verizon while the device will be called the Galaxy Nexus in other places. The image above is allegedly snapped off of the December Best Buy catalogue and, lo and behold, it’s featuring the Samsung Nexus Prime. Whether it is a Best Buy mix-up or Verizon changing the name to go with the rumors and buzz (er, marketing) is yet unknown — maybe the initial rumors were true after all. The price tag attached is $299.99 and we have to wait it out unless Best Buy, Google, Samsung or Verizon throw us official wording regarding the phone’s new name.
