The week wouldn’t be complete without revisiting a few launch rumors one last time. Luckily, we’ve got some new word on a couple of the most anticipated ones set to make their debut on Verizon Wireless, supposedly coming from Verizon employees who have just been tipped-off to these updated launch schedules.
Of course, we couldn’t talk VZW launch rumors without starting with the Galaxy Nexus. There have been lots of signs pointing to it coming out around December 8, though most recently a leak suggested that VZW’s retail partner Best Buy might not even receive the phone until December 11. Thankfully, today’s update doesn’t change things much at all, and suggests the Galaxy Nexus will arrive on December 9. We’ve heard that date mentioned before in association with December 8 rumors, so it sounds quite reasonable to us.
Then there’s the Motorola Droid 4, which was also looking like it might land around the same time as the Galaxy Nexus. These latest rumors say that the phone will see a delay of a few weeks, not coming out until December 22. That sounds like an especially bad time to start things off, missing the opportunity for holiday sales, but at the same time, we’re not expecting any other big-name phones to arrive in late December, so it may be well thought-out after all.
Finally, we have the white version of the Motorola Droid RAZR, but its rumored release isn’t any more specific than mid-December. Frankly, it’s probably a lot less eagerly-anticipated than these other two, so we can live with a little ambiguity.
