This app isn’t something that the majority of our readers are going to go out and grab. Chances are not a single one of you will, but that doesn’t mean it’s not cool!
PureSense Irrigation Manager is an app for farmers — no, not Farmville farmers, real farmers — to monitor the moisture levels in their fields along with climate readings. This data is then sent through the internet every several minutes and the app allows the farmer access to that information in the field — or anywhere there is an internet connection. There’s even an “offline sync” which caches the data on the Android phone so the data is still accessible even without cellular data signal.
“We’re striving to deliver high quality, real-time information to our growers in the most user-friendly manner possible,” said Todd Rickets, Director of Product Management for PureSense. “The mobile tools we’re bringing to market enable us to do just that and allow our growers to make more informed irrigation decisions.”
The app is available through the Android Market but it won’t do you any good without a PureSense account.
