We first heard of the Xperia Duo when the other Xperia brand names were filed for trademark in Europe back at the end of last year. We believed that Sony Ericsson will launch the smartphone at this year’s MWC along with the Xperia Play and Xperia Arc and co.
From Chinese blog IT168 comes this picture allegedly of the Sony Ericsson Xperia Duo (sorry for the inflated version, find the original small below). As the name implies, it might be the first Sony Ericsson Android-powered smartphone to feature a dual-core processor and join the two-core party.
What pops out immediately is the “almost” edge-to-edge display on the smartphone which is looking rather big, probably above 4.3 inches, maybe 4.5. The Xperia branding as well as the Android buttons are the same as on the Xperia Arc. At the top there seems to be either a proximity and a light sensor or a sensor and a front facer. That aside, not much is known about the device but we think it will probably bear a great camera like the other new Xperias with the Exmor-R backlit sensor. We’ll let you know when we find out more.
