We just brought you a collection of some of the first test photos found for a handful of unreleased HTC Androids, but that’s far from all the hardware that the manufacturer has been working on. Some images of an unknown HTC handset were published earlier this morning, showing-off some very Droid Incredible-like styling and featuring support for Verizon LTE; just what could it be?
There’s been some speculation that this phone might be the Droid Incredible 3, but our money’s on a different name; we’ve spotted mention of a Droid Incredible 4G used by accessory manufacturers. Admittedly, it’s odd to hear of a Verizon smartphone with “4G” tacked-on the end like that, but the name’s still the most likely candidate for the handset we’re looking at today.
The rumored specs for the phone tell the tale of some pretty powerful hardware, even if it’s no longer what we consider to be pushing limits. Expect the Incredible 4G to run a dual-core 1.2GHz Snapdragon, include a gigabyte of RAM, and feature an AMOLED display. The source claims the phone will have an eight-megapixel main camera and VGA front-facer, but we don’t get to hear about other hardware features, like the possibility of NFC support.
Like the HTC Ville shots we just got a chance to see, the Incredible 4G would arrive running Ice Cream Sandwich with the latest Sense 4.0 on top. So far, there’s been no word on when the handset might be released, but we did get to see the Incredible S/2 at the MWC last year; might HTC be up for a repeat?
