Earlier this month we brought you a picture that was snapped by the HTC Vigor. The name had been hanging abut HTC for years, but it’s only recently that we’ve seen any evidence that there’s some real hardware to go along with the name. We had a view ideas about what kind of smartphone the Vigor might be, based on its model number, ADR6425, but even those were just educated guesses. Today we’re getting our first look at what may be a few specs for the Vigor, and if they’re accurate, we could be looking at a powerful smartphone with a very nice screen.
A device purporting to be the Vigor, with model ADR6425LVW, has shown up in NenaMark’s benchmark data. We can’t vouch for the accuracy of any of the information, but according to the listing, the Vigor would run a 1.5GHz processor (no information is available on the number of cores), have an Adreno 220 GPU, and would operate on Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread. Supposedly the Vigor runs on Verizon’s network, and we wouldn’t be surprised if it was packing an LTE modem.
The most interesting part about these supposed specs is the HD display, with a 720p, 1280 x 720 resolution. We’ve been seeing these type of screens mentioned more and more in the specs for upcoming smartphones, but none have yet to arrive. Assuming the Vigor is a smartphone after all, and not a new HTC tablet, this means it could be featuring some very impressive pixel density.
Until we get some more confirmation, treat these specs as the rumors they are, but don’t they just make for great rumor fodder?
