Sprint‘s Samsung Epic 4G is going to receive its Android 2.3 Gingerbread update, at least according to bits from a leaked internal document from the carrier.

The key references are “OSName GoogleAndroid” and “OSVersion Android 2.3″ while the build tested appears to be build ED12. With Samsung already committing and hopefully preparing the Gingerbread updated for the Samsung Galaxy S, the Epic 4G — being such a smartphone — should receive it’s Android 2.3 update without any hassle. It’s just a question of when it will be ready, both cooking and testing.
