India is a pretty big country, it’s the second-most populous country, sporting over 1.2 billion people. Sounds like an untapped Android market, doesn’t it? That’s what Olive Telecommunications thought.
The plan is to offer a “range” of smartphones built on Android 2.2. Just how many devices are in this “range” has yet to be seen, however, the information we’re getting implies that these will be high-end phones. But they’re not stopping there: Android-powered, 3G tablets are on their agenda as well.
We’re excited to welcome all our friends in India to the wonderful world of Android! The more people who are using our platform, the more devices that will need to be made. Thanks to economies of scale, the more devices being made, the less expensive the cost of parts for those devices should get.
