T-Mobile’s carrier-branded series of myTouch smartphones started out with HTC producing the handsets, followed by LG. We took a look at a couple renders earlier this month showing off a new batch of myTouch handsets, this time with Huawei behind the wheel. Today we get our first look at one of these smartphones in the flesh, upon the release of some leaked pics of the non-QWERTY Huawei myTouch.

What we can see in these images appears to match nicely with the renders we’ve seen. As we’d expect from myTouch models, the exterior of the phone is scrubbed of any trace of Huawei, leaving just the T-Mobile logo on the back and myTouch up front.

When we looked at those earlier renders, the only details available about the Huawei myTouches were that they’d run Gingerbread and have WVGA displays. We can now confirm that Gingerbread bit, but the photos available don’t give any conclusive insight into the phone’s resolution; still, WVGA looks like a pretty safe bet.

We’re still hoping to learn some more details on the hardware employed by this pair, and while the components used won’t be very high-end, we may end up pleasantly surprised.
