The two Huawei handsets, the X5 and X6, the Chinese manufacturer showed off about a month ago made their official debut as the manufacturer recently launched them on the Australian market.
Since “more than half of all Australians are already using Huawei’s products”, Huawei brought the two Ideos handsets to the region with Android 2.2 Froyo on board. Gingerbread update details were not unveiled but we guess the handsets will be upgradeable to the new Google platform once out. The Ideos X5 sports a 3.8-inch capacitive touchscreen, 5-megapixel camera with LED flash and radio for HSDPA/HSUPA, WiFi as well as GPS/AGPS. The bigger brother, the Ideos X6, features a 4.1-inch LCD capacitive touchscreen as well as Dolby mobile surround sound and HDMI out. No wording on camera features but we guess it’s at least on par with the X5, adding high-definition video recording capability. As far as pricing and availability are concerned, Huawei didn’t give any details so we’ll have to keep our fingers crossed for info to arrive soon.
