Some of the smartphone tweakers over at the XDA-Developers forum have gotten their hands on a copy of the ROM for the upcoming HTC Wildfire S, giving us a full system dump of the phone’s build of Android Gingerbread and the latest HTC Sense.
While we’re still waiting for the Wildfire S, these files may prove valuable to users interested in getting the software running on similar hardware, especially with that new version of Sense to play around with. This build comes from the ChinaMobile version of the Wildfire S.
Look for the Wildfire S to land in Europe sometime during the next few months. We don’t expect it to be a huge improvement over the original Wildfire, considering both phones are constrained by relatively slow processors compared to the rest of the Android flock. All the same, there’s always room for budget smartphones alongside their beefier cousins.
