We heard that Verizon is planning to release a software update for the HTC Thunderbolt, in order to fix the reboot problems, sometime this month. We also heard that Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread might be coming to the smartphone on June 30, but nothing official nor confirmed at the moment.
According to an HTC representative asked about the reboot problems, “HTC and Verizon are aware of this issue and an update will be released soon that will address the reboot issue, and bring the Gingerbread 2.3 upgrade on board, as well as several other enhancements”. It will most probably be a single update that would bump Android’s version to the latest and fix the problems many are experiencing. As far as timing is concerned, the rep said: “although I don’t have an official release date to provide you, this update will be released soon”. We’re waiting for it!
