The HTC Desire Gingerbread saga continues after earlier HTC announced the update, then announced it will not happen, then backtracked again turning 180 degrees and later on said that it will be dropping some apps in order to deliver it. There were rumors coming from carriers that HTC might dump HTC Sense instead of applications and now the manufacturer is updating on the status.
According to the official Facebook page for HTC, the manufacturer has updated saying that they “are testing our build of Gingerbread for HTC Desire and will start doing quality assurance for it this week”. No more info except the classic marketing talk of “we’ll let you know when we have something to announce” but given the pressure the community has managed to put on HTC we can expect a Gingerbread ROM for the Desire soon. Question is: what’s in and what’s out?
