HTC’s Imran Shahid might have posted a tweet yesterday tipping for a March 17 release for the Verizon HTC Thunderbolt — and that might even still stand — but HTC has now officially updated its Facebook status with regards to the upcoming LTE device.
The update simply says “HTC and Verizon will officially and publicly announce the Thunderbolt launch dates soon“. We hope it’s really soon and when that happens we’ll hopefully find out the intention behind Verizon’s CEO Tony Melone’s statement that “you are going to see LTE smartphones on the network as promised, before the first half before the second half of the year, by the end of the second quarter”. March 17 is definitely before the end of the second quarted but then again so is middle of June.
