HTC’s apparently already got an Android-powered handset surfing on AT&T’s not-yet-live LTE network, reports PC Magazine’s Sascha Segan. The device was actually connected to an LTE microsite deployed by the carrier for its CES-based Mobility Summit, according to HTC reps, who stressed that it was only a prototype unit and not representative of any future hardware. Still, as you can see from our enhanced image, the phone clearly looks like something HTC might announce tomorrow (or yesterday), so we can definitely see a similar product helping to launch AT&T’s true 4G network in the second half of the year.
