Just moment sago we informed you that HTC had just released the kernel source code for several of their devices. Now we have learned that both the Sensation 4G and the Evo 3D have received “S-Off”! Wow. That was fast!
S-Off, for those of you who don’t know, is the key to loading a custom Recovery Image, which is the first step to install a custome ROM, tweaked kernel, and even some themes.
The application that allows you to do this is reportedly still an early beta, so please take care if you decide to run it. The instructions (and ramification of doing it wrong) are not for the feint of heart, so please remember that this is one of those things you do at your own risk.
For full instructions (and more warnings), head over to Revolutionary.io. Stay tuned to pocketnow.com for news about custom ROMs and other goodies that will start flowing out very, very soon.
