HTC’s Holiday first crossed our path all the way back in early May, when we had little more than a picture to go by. It wasn’t long before we heard some potential specs for the phone, and learned it may be coming to AT&T as the carrier’s first LTE-capable smartphone. More recently, we’ve seen evidence of the phone in-testing, discovered it will launch as the “Raider” in some markets, and learned of plans to bring the phone to South Korea and Australia in addition to the States. We’ve been expecting the model to arrive on AT&T’s brand-new LTE network sometime before the end of the year, but haven’t been able to surmise just when. It looks like we’re one step closer to the release now, with the handset dropping its FCC documentation off for publication.

The smartphone’s frequencies of operation include the expected AT&T voice and data bands, along with LTE bands 4 and 17, for use around 1700/2100MHz and 700MHz, respectively. In addition to the cellular hookups, there’s 2.4GHz 802.11 b/g/n WiFi and that old stalwart, Bluetooth.

We hope this is a sign we’ll be seeing the Holiday/Raider on AT&T soon, so we can see just how well its LTE network will handle the user load. The bandwidth tests that have been leaked looked impressive, but some stress-testing sounds in order. Once the handset arrives, we should get a better sense of how well the new network’s treating AT&T.
