HTC may be getting into the Android tablet scene with its new 7-inch Flyer, but a larger variant is also in the works. The HTC Puccini may be one of the two additional tablets HTC is rumored to be releasing this year. We’re expecting it to be a 10-inch model, which could be released as early as later this month. While most details about the Puccini so far come from analysis of leaked ROMs, now we have some new evidence of the Android’s existence, with the discovery of some test photos shot with the Puccini’s camera.
The Android tablet is rumored to be running a 1.5GHz dual-core Snapdragon and will feature a 1280 x 800 WXGA display. Software-wise, Puccini should be very similar to the Flyer, running Honeycomb with Sense on top. Arguably the most interesting about the tablet, it looks like Puccini could be one of the first devices running on AT&T’s forthcoming LTE offering, once the carrier starts selling service on its new network later this year.
These new Puccini-produced images don’t tell us anything new about the tablet, but their existence at least shows the tablet is out there, getting some hands-on testing. While June was rumored for the tablet’s release, we’re nearing the halfway point without any further information on the launch. If we don’t learn anything new soon, we may be looking at a bit of a delay before the Puccini finally arrives.
