HTC’s “One X” for AT&T in the States – more accurately the One XL – arrived as the company’s model PJ83100. We saw FCC documentation for the phone land back at the beginning of March, complete with the expected support for AT&T’s LTE bands. Today, the paperwork for another HTC model graces the halls of the Commission, and one that seems like it could be another regional variant of that same handset.

Referred to here as the PJ83110, the model number alone has us thinking this could be another One XL. The reported band coverage doesn’t look like something we’d see intended for release in the US, anyway, with 3G on 1900MHz but not 850MHz. According to HTC’s site, it has two versions of the One XL: the AT&T model we’re well familiar with, and one for Asia and Australia.

It would make sense that we wouldn’t see the FCC test operation on LTE bands that aren’t used in the US, but there’s something a little odd here. That other XL model is supposed to also support 3G on 850MHz, and we’d expect the FCC to certify it for operation on that band if that’s the model we’re really talking about.

As far we as we can tell, this is the first time that model number PJ83110 has popped-up anywhere.
