The Verizon HTC Merge got an initial review at the beginning of October, way before its launch date and we anticipated it being released around the time Verizon Wireless starts to deploy its 4G LTE network. According to the Twitter rumor mill, the HTC Merge will be delayed from its initial November 23 launch date due mainly to the fact that HTC needs time to put an LTE radio on the handset. Nevertheless, it might still be out this year according to hear-say.
We know the HTC Incredible HD is LTE capable and there were indications that the handset will be available sometime around March 2011. Same Twitter user as above, who seems to be related to Verizon (device rep?), chirped — in a context in which he uncovered that Verizon will be launching an Android device every month of the first quarter (maybe even four!) — that the HTC Incredible HD will be out first of 2011. Now, that’s a bit earlier than our last bit we caught about March 2011.
While all of the above is still classified under capital R(umor), these could be reasons for excitement, given that we’ll soon receive some official wording to support all of the above.
