Along with the alleged in-the-wild photo we saw in January of a Merge with Alltel wallpaper, the naming convention here almost certainly confirms that the regional carrier will be one of several in the US promised to carry the CDMA worldphone. Essentially a CDMA version of the HTC Desire Z / T-Mobile G2, the Merge is also coming to Verizon after nearly six months of protracted rumors, leaks galore, and even a premature sale on eBay.
