While no one seems to be quite sure what to do with the HTC Knight’s name, the anticipated WiMax-enabled Android slider has now at least shown up on camera in its finished form, thanks to the arrival of the phone’s accessories in the HTCPedia Shop.
The photos accompany cases for the handset, referred to here as the HTC Speedy. Knight and Speedy are now the front-runners for what the phone will be known as when it finally launches on Sprint, as the HTC EVO Shift 4G has dropped out of the running.
These new pics match perfectly with the earlier low-res shot leaked back in October. The phone looks like it will have a 3.7-inch screen, forward-facing camera, and though we haven’t seen it yet, a slide-out QWERTY keyboard. With its WiMax connectivity, comparisons to the EVO 4G are inevitable.
The best guess we still have about the phone’s release is January 6, 2011. An earlier screenshot describing the phone’s accessories (though there as the HTC Knight) has them planned for a launch coinciding with the CES, which would make for a logical release window.
