All summer long, we’ve been fishing for information on HTC’s follow-up to the seven-inch Flyer tablet, a 10.1-inch Honeycomb model. We saw the device in renders, checked out what its camera could do in some test photos, and most recently learned of the tablet’s proper name via screenshot; what we had been calling the HTC Puccini would come to market as the HTC Jetstream. Now AT&T has formally announced the Jetstream, which will run on the carrier’s nascent LTE network when it arrives on September 4.

Just like we were expecting, the Jetstream has a dual-core 1.5GHz chip under the hood – a Snapdragon. The 10.1-inch screen has a WXGA resolution, and the tablet features a rear 8-megapixel camera as well as a 1.3-megapixel front-facer. Like the Flyer, the Jetstream includes HTC’s Scribe for handling pen input as well as touch. A big difference between the two, though, is that the Jetstream will ship with Honeycomb 3.1, while the Flyer is still stuck on Gingerbread.

Until AT&T LTE gets more widespread, many Jetstream users will find themselves relegated to HSPA+. Service plans available to the the tablet include a 3GB/$35 contract plan, and monthly options at 250MB/$15 and 2GB/$25.
