Today has already brought news of upcoming additions to HTC’s lineup of smartphones, and that trend continues now. While those other rumors focused on handsets destined for AT&T, this time we’ve got Verizon in our sights. A leaked screenshot from internal company computers shows the recent addition of the HTC Fireball to its system; just what could this phone be?
The Fireball is marked as being a 4G device for use on Verizon’s LTE network. Though LTE is on its way to Windows Phone, and we just heard about rumors for such an HTC model to arrive early next year, the odds are still heavily in favor of us talking about an Android model in this case.
The phone’s model number, ADR6410L, doesn’t reveal any hits on its own, but the sequence number falls in-line with other HTC Androids released for Verizon LTE.
For now, any attempts to nail-down the Fireball’s feature set just amount to speculation. As an LTE model, we can safely expect it to be relatively high-end, but we’ll need a lot more info before we’re really able to get a sense of the phone. Based on its addition to Verizon’s systems in mid-December, we could probably expect a release by February or earlier; perhaps an unveiling at the CES?
