We expect Sprint to unveil at least two smartphones — the Samsung-made Google Nexus S 4G and the HTC EVO 3D — with the occasion of next week’s upcoming CTIA and, as usual around this time before every show, leaks and rumors start to stack up.
The HTC EVO 3D, aka the HTC Shooter we told you about earlier this week, is a response to the LG Optimus 3D and the less known Sharp Lynx 3D. From looking at the benchmark database we were pretty certain that the EVO 3D will have a 540 x 960 qHD display, 1.2GHz dual-core MSM8660 Snapdragon (with Adreno 220 GPU) as well Android 2.3.2 Gingerbread.
BGR fills in the blanks quoting one of its sources — besides confirming unequivocally that the EVO 3D will indeed be part of the Sprint CTIA event. The qHD display will measure 4.3-inch in diagonal, 1GB of RAM and 4GB of ROM, five-megapixel stereoscopic camera with 1080p 2D recording and 720p 3D recording capability, 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera, HDMI-out and 1730mAh battery.
So that’s pretty much it! We just need the actual announcement and the device itself. Whether these rumored specs will be far from what we’ll see next week is yet unknown but hopefully we’ll find out in a couple of days now.
