Turns out Walmart had at least one spec wrong on its dedicated HTC EVO Shift 4G page as the camera on the device, at least according to the official packaging — and we’ll trust this one — is of five-megapixels and not eight, as per Walmart’s listing.
Engadget’s got a couple of pictures of the device which looks ready for prime time and judging by the packaging, we should see this one go on sale any time now. The Sprint EVO 4G‘s QWERTY enabled sibling also sports a smaller display (3.6-inch versus 4.3-inch) besides the lower megapixel count (five on the EVO Shift, eight on the EVO) and apparently no front facing camera.
One particular shot is revealing the About section of the operating system, namely Android 2.2 Froyo (for a confirmation) with baseband 1.07.00.1129. With everything related to the device leaked in the past couple of weeks, we might see it being available by the end of this week, if the rumors turn out to be true.
