Sprint’s HTC EVO Shift 4G owners so far only had temporary root solutions for their hacking, tweaking and customization needs but now there’s a permaRoot solution for the handset (with which your root permissions survive a restart or reset/reboot).

While, like with every extreme hack, there are several risks involved and the procedure can be dangerous, XDA Developers have published a step-by-step tutorial on how to achieve permanent root on the EVO Shift 4G. You can check out the six-step walkthrough over at the source link (again, you do this at your own responsibility) so if you must have that permanent root solution, it’s there, opening up new ways for customizing your smartphone.
