Whatever you want to call it, the HTC Knight/Speedy/EVO 4G Shift now has some up-close photographs of it available, thanks to a tipster sending them in to phoneArena.
Just as we’d heard, the phone is a QWERTY slider, and a compact one at that. Sadly, no pics are available of the FCC sticker or anything else that would help us nail down just what hardware this is; in addition to the many possible names, we’ve seen multiple ID codes used to refer to the smartphone.
The source for these pictures claims the EVO Shift 4G, as he calls it, is running at 800MHz. If this is indeed a WiMAX-enabled G2, that makes perfect sense, as that model’s Qualcomm MSM7230 processor operates at 800MHz as well.
Like most of the phones just on the horizon, we’re expecting to get the answers to many of the questions regarding the Shift 4G as we approach next month’s CES. Until then, there’s always Samsung’s Epic for your WiMAX QWERTY needs.
