Before HTC’s EVO 3D on Sprint was even in wide release, only available to Sprint Premier customers, the very first OTA update for the smartphone started going out, addressing a potentially annoying problem where malformed entries could cause the calendar to lose some of your data. Everything sounded good, but then word started to come in that in fixing that problem, the update was causing another. Luckily those early EVO 3D owners didn’t have to wait long, since HTC already has a fix for the botched updated available.
The first update ended up messing with the EVO 3D’s lock screen, killing off the link to the phone dialer. Even trying to manually re-add it, you’d find it was no longer an option. It seemed that the only way to get the dialer back on the lock screen was to do a hard reset of the phone.
Today’s update restores the dialer option, quick and easy. In addition to these two updates, HTC released yet another one yesterday that corrects some issues with the HTC Watch app. Thankfully, that one didn’t introduce any new problems of its own. So yes, you may have a lot of patching to do if you manage to pick up an EVO 3D today, but it’s good to see HTC working so diligently to get all these updates out in short order, trying to make the smartphone’s launch as successful as possible.
