The newly announced HTC EVO 3D Sprint flagship for 2011 does not have a kickstand opposed to last year’s HTC EVO 4G which spoiled most of its users with added functionality for watching videos of video calling.
The reason behind the lack of a kickstand on the EVO 3D is, according to HTC, a limitation in space. The device sports a stereoscopic camera on the back which takes up a lot of real estate and then there’s the battery too, so a kickstand just couldn’t fit in. Worry not, HTC is reportedly developing a kickstand enabled case especially for the EVO 3D.
It’s will purportedly be a snap-on case — yes, adding some bulk to the device — featuring a kickstand at the back from holding the device upfront, with special cutouts for the camera and whatnot. The design is not finalized but the case is expected to be available shortly after the device hits the market.
We think that adding a flip-out stand from either side of the device could have been a kickstand solution for the EVO 3D but then again, like in most cases, it’s a matter of personal taste. Do you fancy a kickstand or can you live without?
