For as long as we’ve been following news of the HTC Vigor, and now as the HTC Rezound, there’s yet to be any official word on the handset. Some recent leaks suggested the Rezound could arrive at Verizon as soon as November 10, so when will the smartphone finally go official? HTC has just distributed invitations to a November 3 event that just might be the Rezound’s debut.
What makes this event likely to be Rezound-related? Well, there’s nothing in the invitation that gives us a direct clue towards the “innovation” at hand no cute puns or anything. The presence of the Beats logo lets us know to expect a focus on the device’s audio performance, but that’s practically HTC’s call-to-arms nowadays, and doesn’t really narrow things down. When it comes down to it, it’s mostly a matter of timing; we’re expecting the Rezound soon, it’s yet to be announced, and the date of this event would make perfect sense for an opportunity to show-off the phone.
If we’re to believe the leaks we’ve seen, the Rezound should go for about $300 on-contract when it arrives. We expect the phone to feature a 1.5GHz dual-core processor, 4.3-inch 720p screen, and an eight-megapixel main camera with two-megapixel front-facer. With the Galaxy Nexus and Droid RAZR also on their way to Verizon, subscribers should have more than enough options to choose between in the high-end Android niche.
