After HTC’s Droid Incredible 2 on Verizon received an upgrade to Gingerbread this past summer, we’ve seen the phone receive additional updates, but of a much smaller scale. We’re not quite back up to the grandeur of the phone’s Android 2.3 update, but a new update is now on its way out to the handset, bringing with it Android 2.3.4, along with some stability and performance improvements.
Droid Incredible 2 system software 4.08.605.3 includes a few fixes focused on addressing issues that could come up while the smartphone is roaming. Message handling has been improved, for more reliable texting when on a roaming data connection. A fix related to dialing prefixes addresses issues when attempting to call internationally while connected to other carriers’ CDMA networks. If you’d rather avoid roaming charges altogether, more refined options let you control when you’d like the phone to use data on a roaming network.
Some stability tweaks should make synching up email a tad more reliable, as well as accessing your visual voicemail. If you haven’t noticed anything yet, check your Incredible 2 to see if it’s received its update; they should be on their way presently.
