Despite the appearance of so many leaked schedules, we have not been having much luck lately with predicting the availability of Verizon smartphones. Some rumors pointed to the Droid Charge arriving today, and it clearly has not, though at least that’s given us one less date to consider as a potential. Last we checked, HTC’s Droid Incredible 2 was up for release on April 21. You may wish to hold off on setting up camp outside a Verizon Store, since today there’s new evidence suggesting that the smartphone won’t be out until April 28.
We had that date for the Incredible 2′s launch on an earlier leaked roadmap that surfaced in March. Since then, other documents have shown the phone’s release date moving up a week, but this latest rumor pushes it right back to where it started. Verizon hasn’t even acknowledged the phone exists, let alone provided a rough window of availability, so all we can really do at this point is keep track of all these rumors.
The latest pricing information we’ve seen puts the Incredible 2 at about $200. If the phone does arrive on April 28, there’s a chance that the Droid Charge may launch at the same time.
