There’s a new smartphone being developed known as the HTC Doubleshot, and it has posted a single six-megapixel photo to Picasa. According to the caption, the shot was taken in Washington, D.C. across the Potomac River towards Virginia — it is labeled as an “HDR test.” The picture seems to have been taken by an HTC employee visiting the States from overseas.

A full-size version of the photo is hotlinked here.

Various reports have the Doubleshot as a T-Mobile-bound QWERTY slider with WVGA resolution and 1.2GHz dual-core processor. Blog of Mobile!! claims that its model number is PG58100, which would mean that it’s also equipped with Bluetooth 3.0 and 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi, according to the respective certification bodies. Allegedly running Android 2.3 Gingerbread, Doubleshot has also been benchmarked over at Smartphone Benchmarks, posting a respectable but unremarkable set of scores.
